CBP’s new electronic invoice indicator on statement – requirement delayed

As mentioned in our blog posts of September 29 and October 16, 2010, US Customs has added a new field to preliminary duty statements (daily statement output) which serves as an indicator that an electronic invoice is required for the corresponding entry when submitted via the Automated Commercial System (ACS).    To allow the trade to make necessary software updates, CBP had previously extended the deadline to comply with this requirement to November 15, 2010.

Now, however, due to programming issues, CBP will delay the requirement for the new electronic invoice indicator to print on the ACH daily statement until further notice.

The official announcement is available here.
